Layers; not just for on a Scrapbook page....

So, Christmas has come and gone. It is amazing how quickly time passes on
Christmas day.  For most I am sure you are up at the crack of dawn, with the little ones
full of excitement to open gifts. Being up at 5AM probably isn't the ideal, but you are happy to see your children's faces as they open up their gifts. The rest of the day s filled with family events and turkey comas. After a long day of family visiting you settle in to watch a Christmas flick or two... Home Alone, being one of the more likely choices, or playing a classic board game... After a long day, you are ready to settle in for a good night sleep, at 8 o-clock.

One of my favorite things are Christmas is layered jello... I have had layer jello every year since I can remember. It is something that I only have at Christmas, but it is something that EVERYONE loves from the littlest kids to older adults it is yummy treat that you cannot help but peel apart and eat.

Here is the recipe if you would like to try it out

JELLO LAYER DESSERT

1pkg. of each;
 lime,
 cherry,
 lemon,
strawberry,
 and orange
8 pks knox gelatine
1 can Eagle Brand milk

Mix 1 package gelatine with  1/4 CUP COLD WATER until dissolved.
Add  1 cup boiling water with the lime Jello mix. Add gelatine to the Jello.
Let stand until cool (15 to 20 minutes)in refrigerator.

Grease a 9X13 inch pan  (Pam or Mazola spray works)
Add the first layer of Lime Jello into the pan.
Dissolve 3 Packages of Gelatine in 1/2 cup cold water. Add 1-1/2 cups boiling water.
Add Eagle Brand milk; let stand in warm water so it won't set.

Scoop 3/4 cup of this mixture and gently pour over the first layer of the lime Jello after it has gelled. Let this layer gel in the refrigerator and continue with the other layers of Jello and milk, alternating.
Use the Jello in the order outlined. The top layer will be orange.

If you want a more festive dessert you can use just red and green jello
and create a candy cane jello treat, or use cookie cutters to create fun shapes

Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas

3 days in a row.....

Has any one heard of the 21day habit theory? Dr Maxwell Maltz wrote the bestseller Psycho-Cybernetics.  Originally a Plastic Surgeon, Maltz noticed that it took  21 days for amputees to cease feeling phantom sensations  in the amputated limb. From further observations he found  it took 21 days to create a new habit. Since then the '21  Day Habit Theory' has become an accepted part of self-help  programs.   So, if f the rain circuits take engrams (memory traces), and produce  neuroconnections and neuropathways only if they are  bombarded for 21 days in a row. This means that our brain  does not accept ?new? data for a change of habit unless  it is repeated each day for 21 days (without missing a day).

That being said, I am on day 3 of 21.  I am pretty darn certain,
I am on my way to creating a habit.... I do not plan on blogging everyday but, I did say I would post pictures today... woooo look at me go!
On Saturday January 7th, I will be teaching the class
"12 days till Christmas" using (Authentiques "Wonder", one of my favorite paper lines. In preparation for this class, for those who want
to attend ( only 8 spots available)
I wanted everyone to take advantage of
how the class is designed....
Starting December 14th, I suggest you start taking pictures ( 12 days up until Christmas day) From the pictures you take, you will select a few pictures that you really like, as these will be the pictures you will use in the day 12 days till Christmas book.
I will personally be taking pictures daily as of December 14th and uploading them, onto facebook, and hopefully 8 others will join me!
Here are some of the pages from the mini...

There are oodles of flaps, and pages to put your pictures on.
The class comes with all of the paper and embellishments needed to create
your personal record of the 12 days till Christmas in 2011

Happy Tuesday

I just wanted to write something, really quick, with nothing really behind why I am writing... OTHER then to write something two days in a row....

This evening I taught a Christmas tag class, it was a lot of fun! I thought it was awesome that one of the ladies brought her teen daughter, and daughters friend... The girls had a lot of fun, and they were sponges absorbing the Tim Techniques..... There is nothing better then seeing the light turn on, when people are getting their hands in the inks, and seeing how AMAZING Tim Holtz inks are...

Oh, and my  12 Days of Christmas is complete, I will be posting pics tomorrow....   It is a really fun mini album....  I will be doing the same mini with the Gathering line...

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Authentique paper, so far  Gathering is my favorite collection... I really love how the large floral is similar to my favorite Hero art stamp...

Not only that, their sentiments are heart felt, and meaningful...
I appreciate the concepts behind the paper company, and love it!

Fall is by far my favorite season of the year.... To me there is nothing more beautiful then leaves turning colour... My favorite child hood pictures take place in Edmonton Alberta,  There is a strip that runs parallel to a city street, that are have some of the most gorgeous trees... They are vibrant orange and red.....  These particular pictures include my mom and my brother Terry. We are throwing leaves in the air... and the colours are so rich....
I think this is most likely the reason I love fall, leaves and trees so much...

Below, are some of my favorite pictures from this fall, they were taken when I went for a walk along the Sienne River just off St. Anne's Road....

A is for Apple, B is for Blog....

Oh this Blog thing... I am officially the worst blogger ever...
Good thing New Years is fast approaching, that way I can make a new years resolution
to blog more often... I must admit, I did really well at my new years resolution last year.
My resolution last year was to not eat fast food from McDonalds, A&W, KFC and Wendy's. In March when I was in Edmonton, I has McDonalds... In August, when I was renovating the store Penny brought me KFC... So, I think I have done pretty fantastic...

My new new years resolution is;  to not purchase breakfast/donuts/ muffins from Tim Hortons, and to only buy coffee once a week.  I'm thinking of getting fancy coffee maker (Tassimo), it will likely be a done deal if I can make Chai Tea Lattes...
Oh I confirmed it, my inquiring mind wanted to know, as i was writing this post I googled it... I don't know what I would do with out google...

So, my new years resolution will be 1 purchased coffee a week, to make my lunches (and eat them) seriously, I forget to eat... I have free moments, and I just keep on working, I will have to set an alarm, to remind myself...
I'd also like to start morning gym sessions.... but Instead of making this my new years resolution I am going to make it in February... That way I wont be starting the resolution with lots of other people... It will be my own... WHO's WITH ME?!?!?!?  My goal is to start training with my hot trainer again...   (Let me just wipe that drool off my chin...)

On a creative note, today I worked on the 12' days of Christmas, a Class I am going to offer in January. There is limited space for this class (8 seats) It will take approx 3 hrs to complete... Before the class takes place, I suggest that participants start taking pictures. Because it is the 12 days of Christmas start count forward starts on Wednesday December 14th.
I have now set a reminder in my phone to start taking pictures on the 14th, as should you...

Well, I am one step closer to being a consistent blogger, lol

Happy Monday

Warning

So. I am going to do a pre-empt warning
.... I tend to type to quick, have poor grammar, and use the wrong word at the wrong time....

It happens often ( ask my roommate), usually in conversation, or when I am writing(University Papers)..

For example
Not to long ago I was writing an email, I had intended on writing " Sorry for the inconvenience" but wrote " sorry for the Incontinence" it is a good thing that I looked over that email, I would have received some pretty interesting responses.

So that being said .....keep in mind the above statement... and add a word that may sound very similar. As it was more then likely my intention.
