So, Christmas has come and gone. It is amazing how quickly time passes on
Christmas day. For most I am sure you are up at the crack of dawn, with the little ones
full of excitement to open gifts. Being up at 5AM probably isn't the ideal, but you are happy to see your children's faces as they open up their gifts. The rest of the day s filled with family events and turkey comas. After a long day of family visiting you settle in to watch a Christmas flick or two... Home Alone, being one of the more likely choices, or playing a classic board game... After a long day, you are ready to settle in for a good night sleep, at 8 o-clock.
One of my favorite things are Christmas is layered jello... I have had layer jello every year since I can remember. It is something that I only have at Christmas, but it is something that EVERYONE loves from the littlest kids to older adults it is yummy treat that you cannot help but peel apart and eat.
Here is the recipe if you would like to try it out
JELLO LAYER DESSERT
1pkg. of each;
lime,
cherry,
lemon,
strawberry,
and orange
8 pks knox gelatine
1 can Eagle Brand milk
Mix 1 package gelatine with 1/4 CUP COLD WATER until dissolved.
Add 1 cup boiling water with the lime Jello mix. Add gelatine to the Jello.
Let stand until cool (15 to 20 minutes)in refrigerator.
Grease a 9X13 inch pan (Pam or Mazola spray works)
Add the first layer of Lime Jello into the pan.
Dissolve 3 Packages of Gelatine in 1/2 cup cold water. Add 1-1/2 cups boiling water.
Add Eagle Brand milk; let stand in warm water so it won't set.
Scoop 3/4 cup of this mixture and gently pour over the first layer of the lime Jello after it has gelled. Let this layer gel in the refrigerator and continue with the other layers of Jello and milk, alternating.
Use the Jello in the order outlined. The top layer will be orange.
If you want a more festive dessert you can use just red and green jello
and create a candy cane jello treat, or use cookie cutters to create fun shapes
Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas
